A Message From Dan Slater
I wanted you to be among the first to know that I am running for Mayor of Orange in the November 2022 election. A formal announcement will be made on Thursday September 23rd, and your presence at the campaign kick off event is very important to me.
Our City needs new leadership. I have been asked to run for Mayor to provide leadership at this important time in our city's history. The direction the current Mayor is following is wrong for our city.
Orange deserves a Mayor who will pro-actively protect our neighborhoods, our precious remaining undeveloped lands and open spaces. The Mayor of Orange, along with the City Council and our citizens should determine what our community will look like in the future...not lobbyist and developers.
Orange citizens deserve a stronger police presence to combat criminal activity, homelessness and vagrancy. I will make sure Orange residents share the sense of personal safety we all deserve.
As your Mayor, I will fight for stronger enforcement of out existing laws to protect us from blight, graffiti, homelessness and unkempt public spaces. I have solutions to fix ineffective city code enforcement.
As your Mayor, I will work to protect our neighborhoods from the harm caused by traffic, parking intrusions, accessory apartments and rental properties that have become nuisances.
Orange needs strong financial oversight and transparency of all aspects of government spending. I will better support our businesses to improve opportunities for residents and expand our tax base.
As your new Mayor, I will better honor our past, while working for brighter future for all of us.
As you probably know, my family has resided in Orange for three generations. I attended local school and O-LU. I'm a realtor and long time Orange business owner. I served on the City Council from 1994 to 2002, including two years as your Mayor ProTem. I know our city, it's history and it's challenges.
I sincerely believe I am the best equipped candidate to get these jobs done.
